KASARGOD: Kasaragod government college principal M Rama made serious allegations against the SFI activists after she was removed from the post. The action was taken after she locked up students who came to complain to her about drinking water. Her reaction led to several protests. Following this, Higher Education Minister R Bindu removed Rama from the post of principal.

Rama alleged that immoral traffic was going on in the campus under the leadership of SFI activists and that the allegations against her were the reason for questioning this. “I was removed from the post without hearing my side. I stand firm in a case against students.”, stated M Rama.

The incident happened last Monday. When the students came to see principal M Rama to complain about the drinking water issue she told them not to sit before her and said that she did not have time for that. She also asked them to drink the same water. But when the students decided that they would not leave without finding a solution, Principal M Rama came out and locked around fifteen students inside the chamber. It is also complained that Rama used indecent words.

The students had lodged a complaint with the Higher Education Minister and the Human Rights Commission. The college has been temporarily closed due to student protests. An all-party meeting has been called today to discuss the matter.
