THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The KSRTC management has clarified that there is no mandatory VRS (Voluntary Retirement Scheme) for its employees. The management, which denied the news regarding this, added that it has not prepared the list of 7200 people to be given VRS. 200 crore was asked for them two years ago. The possibility of VRS is very remote, the management said.
Earlier, Transport Minister Antony Raju also said that the government had not decided to implement VRS in KSRTC. "No discussion has taken place regarding this yet. Reports are given to the Finance Department regarding the utilization of the funds of the departments. It will be checked whether what came out was a recommendation in the report submitted in this way," he said.
Earlier, a report had come out claiming that KSRTC was planning to implement mandatory VRS for its employees and that the management had prepared a list of 7200 employees aged above 50 years for this purpose.
