THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSRTC is ready for some opulence and has rolled out the new service option which will see an AC double-decker bus for the capital. The service option is mainly for sightseeing and jaunting through the magnificent city. An E-tender has been made for this service. The route map will be woven in such a way linking all the main tourist attractions in the city. The total cost for the implementation is estimated at Rs 1.75 crore.

The top side of the bus will be open. Birthday parties and other such celebrations that mainly circle around family get priority. Food will also be provided for the passengers inside the bus. The first AC double-decker bus has touched the roads in Mumbai. KSRTC MD Biju Prabhakar was also invited to the launch. The MD after pondering over the ride has opted that Kerala uses the same thing to ramp up the tourism sector. In Mumbai, the AC Double-decker cost RS 150 for the top space but Rs 75 for the Below one.
