NEW DELHI: Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia reached the CBI headquarters for questioning in the liquor policy case. Sisodia reached the headquarters at 10 am amidst the clamor of chants from a vehement group of AAP supporters. The CBI earlier asked the deputy CM to be present in the office in a notice sent on February 19th. Sisodia, a deputy to Arvind Kejriwal was busy preparing the state Budget while he was forced to reach the CBI office. Sisodia who also handles the finance portfolio appealed to the officers to extend a week's time to prepare himself before reaching for questioning.

In a rare show of deference, the deputy CM reached the Rajghat to pay tributes to Mahatma Gandhi before heading straight to the CBI office. The office area was blanketed with security after an alert reached the centre about possible unrest by AAP workers in case of an arrest.

“ Don’t worry even if I spend some months in jail. I have with me the love of lakhs of people including children. I follow in the footsteps of martyr Bhagat Singh. He was hanged to death for the nation, I am subservient to do that for the nation myself. “ Sisodia tweeted

Meanwhile, Delhi chief minister Aravind Kejriwal tweeted “God is with you, Manish. The blessings of lakhs of children and their parents are with you. When you go to jail for the country and society, it is not a curse, it is a glory”

https://t.co/h8VrIIYRTz
