KASARGOD: The students' claim of the water purifier in the government college as effluent finally turns true. After the ruckus between the principal and the students in Kasargod government college, water was given for the test. Now, the results received show the water as impure. The test conducted by the water department confirms the presence of E.coli bacteria in the water. With this, the long-held defense by the principal M Rema has gone loose. When the protest spiraled inside the college, the principal defended her stance saying she has checked the water and ensured it was pure for drinking.
The incident happened last Monday when a group of students entered the principal's chamber to complain about the impure water purifier. However, they were denied a seat by the principal. She said the students can complain but not sit in front of her. The SFI workers protested inside her chamber which triggered the principal to storm out before locking the students inside her chamber.
The minister of higher education was quick to react to the issue and served M Rema an immediate transfer order. Meanwhile, according to the principal's complaint, almost 60 students have been charged by the police. Rema says the students are targeting her because it was her action that stopped the rampant drugs and immoral trafficking done behind the walls of the college.
