THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The young man who was kidnapped and beaten up by his girlfriend and gang from Thiruvananthapuram airport was released when he agreed to pay money. Muhyiddin, a native of Takala, says that he was released after being tied up at the resort for two days when he agreed to pay Rs 50 lakh. He revealed to the police that his girlfriend herself got him the ticket for the trip when he told them that he would pay after going to Gulf. Muhyiddin was abducted from the airport on February 22. The main accused are his girlfriend Insha and her brother Shafiq.
Muhyiddin was in love with Insha for a year. Insha demanded Rs 1 crore to end the relationship. When he agreed to go to the Gulf and pay, Insha herself purchased the ticket for the journey. According to the police, Muhyiddin was abducted with the help of his brother and friends when he got a hint that he would not get the money when he returned.
15 lakh rupees, two phones and gold were stolen from Muhayuddin's possession after he was tied up at the resort at Chirayinkeezhu. He was dropped off in front of the airport two days later. The accused were arrested on the complaint filed by Muhyiddin. Insha and her brother's friends Rajesh, Shajaz, Ashiq and Ansil were also arrested. The accused will be produced in court.
