THRISSUR: A worker died after a coconut grove caught fire at Pullur Urakam in Thrissur. The dead is Subran (75) of Urakam. The fire broke out at the coconut grove of acres near the Urakam mosque Tuesday morning.

Subran was working in the grove when the fire broke out. The residents nearby first tried to douse the flames. Later the fire brigade reached and extinguished the flames completely. Subran was seen lying with burns in an unconscious condition only later. Though he was taken to the taluk hospital in Irinjalakuda, his life could not be saved. It is not clear how the fire spread.
