PALAKKAD: The district-wise monitoring committee has issued a set of conditions for parading tusker Thechikottukavu Ramachandran for temple festivals. The district-wise monitoring committee issued conditions as per the provisions of the Chief Wildlife Warden based on the order issued by the High Court. The main condition put forward by the committee is that the dangerous tusker must not be made to participate in elephant parades along with other elephants or in groups. The monitoring committee has also instructed to record the video of the elephant from the beginning of the parade to the end and hand over the video to the Forest Department.

The monitory committee met under the leadership of ADM K Manikandan and took the decision after several people submitted applications seeking permission for Thechikottukavu Ramachandran to participate in the temple festivals in Palakkad.
