MUMBAI: The recurring injuries to Jasprit Bumrah may soon dash the hope of the star bowler's return to the Indian team. As per new reports, the BCCI has advised Bumrah to submit to surgery to end the cricketer's perennial predicament. The bowler was done with back aches for a long and solicited a move out of the starting 11 in recent times.

Bumrah last played for India in the ODI against England in July 2022. Caught in the shackles of injury, Bumrah lost the Asia cup, T20 world cup, and most recently many international matches that made palpable the spirited bowler's absence. If the latest news is to be believed, Jasprit Bumrah may also miss the IPL tournament this year.

The medical team of BCCI, after careful deliberation wanted Bumrah to undergo surgery, which will surely distance him from the field for a long time. However, in the bigger scheme of things, BCCI wants this star bowler to be fit for the next year's ODI world cup. At present, Bumrah is fighting the injuries with rigorous training sessions in Bangalore’s National Cricket Academy. The recent stellar return of Ravindra Jadeja after a year-long injury gives reasons for hope to Bumrah.
