NEW DELHI: The Union Health Ministry has issued an advisory to the states and UTs based on the India Meteorological Department's forecast of rising temperatures in the coming days. The IMD predicts an early start to this year's summer as North West, Central and West regions continue to experience an unusual rise in daytime temperature.
In the letter, Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan directed that awareness should be created in the districts to prevent heat-related diseases and preparations should be made by contacting the health department. Medicines, injection fluids, ice packs, ORS, equipment, drinking water, working cooling equipment and electricity should be ensured in all health facilities.
