THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police have arrested a youth who took a woman to various hotels in the city and sexually abused her. The arrested person has been identified as Ansar, who works as a driver at Technopark. The police said that Ansar had also extorted money and gold from the woman after threatening her by photographing her nude pictures. In her complaint, the 45-year-old woman alleged that the accused extorted 12 lakh rupees, 19 sovereigns of gold and a car from her by blackmailing her.

The 45-year-old complainant is running a private company in Thiruvananthapuram city. Ansar, who lives on rent in Kanyakulangara, met the woman three years ago. The two became friends through social media. Later, he gradually became closer to her. The accused then started frequently visiting her establishment. He sexually abused the woman and started threatening her after establishing the friendship. As per the complaint, Ansar took the woman to various hotels in the city and sexually abused her.

Ansar extorted money, gold and a car by threatening to circulate her nude photos and inform her husband. The Vattappara police arrested Ansar from Kanyakulangara.
