AGALI: A tribal man was killed by a youth by bashing his head with a stone. The gruesome incident took place in Attapadi. The deceased has been identified as Shivan (54) of Veettikkund Ooru in Sholayur. Agali police have arrested Shivakumar (24), accused of committing the murder. The incident happened around 4:30 pm on Wednesday. Sivan, who is also a relative, had come to buy goods at the store adjacent to Shivakumar's house. There was a verbal argument between them regarding an earlier problem, following which Shivakumar hit Shivan on the head with a stone.

Shivan died on the spot. Shivakumar, who escaped, was caught by the police in a daring chase at Kottathara. Shivan's body was shifted to the district hospital.
