KOCHI: The government has written to the Registrar General of the High Court that the pension age of the High Court employees cannot be increased from 56 to 58 years. On October 25, 2022, the Registrar General had written to the government on the instructions of the Chief Justice requesting to increase the pension age. The reply to this was given by the Joint Secretary on behalf of the Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department. According to the letter, the pension age for High Court personnel alone cannot be raised because it has not been raised for government employees.
