KOTTAYAM: A man was beaten to death with a helmet. The incident took place in Polachira in Thiruvanjoor, Kottayam. Shaiju (46), a native of Thiruvanjoor, was killed. Ayarkunnam police has taken his friend into custody. He is being interrogated. Shaiju is a painting worker.

The body was found by the locals near Polachira pump house on Sunday morning. Immediately they called the police. Several injuries were found on his body. Then the friend was taken into police custody. It is reported that he confessed the crime during interrogation. But the police have not confirmed this. The body was shifted to Kottayam Medical College for post-mortem.
