CHENNAI: The police have registered a case against Tamil Nadu BJP state president K Annamalai for provocative speech in connection with alleged attack on migrant labourers in the state. A case has been registered by the cyber police on the grounds of inciting violence and promoting enimity between groups. Meanwhile, Annamalai challenged the DMK government to arrest him.

Meanwhile, following the news of Biharis being attacked, the inquiry commission appointed by the Bihar government met with the commissioner of the state labor and welfare department in Chennai. The Labor Department informed the commission that migrant workers are working peacefully in Tamil Nadu. The commission is also visiting areas including Tirupur.

In a statement made through the official Twitter page of BJP Tamil Nadu, Annamalai alleged that the discrimination against migrant workers started in Tamil Nadu following the anti-Hindi protest of DMK. He mentioned ministers, MPs, MLAs and many others by name.

Chief Minister MK Stalin and the state police chief had earlier clarified that the news that migrant workers were being attacked in Tamil Nadu was false.
