THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Doctors under the auspices of organizations like IMA, KGMOA, KGMCTA and others will observe a day of protest in government hospitals and medical colleges across the state in the incident where senior cardiologist PK Ashok of Fathima Hospital in Kozhikode was manhandled by the relatives of a patient following the delay in the scan report. They will also hold meetings.
Doctors of government and private hospitals and medical colleges under the Kozhikode IMA component will boycott OP. They will hold a protest march from Fathima Hospital to the Commissioner's office at 10 am. IMA state President Dr Zulfi Nuhu and secretary Dr Joseph Banavan said that it is a shocking fact that attacks against doctors are increasing in Kerala. They also urged the government to ensure that the doctors have an environment to work without fear.
KGMCTA State President Dr Nirmal Bhaskar and Secretary Dr Rosnara Begum have warned that they will go on a strong strike if the police do not take strict action in accordance with the High Court order under the Hospital Protection Act.
