THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Governor has accepted the government's recommendation to appoint Dr KM Dileep, former director of the Animal Husbandry department and former president of the Gazetted Officers Association, as the State Information Commissioner. The name was suggested by a committee comprising Chief Minister, Opposition Leader and Minister P Rajeev. The Governor signed the file yesterday as it was a unanimous recommendation. Dileep will be appointed in the vacancy created after the term of H Rajeev came to an end. The public administration department should issue the order. The Supreme Court had changed the term of State Information Commissioner from 5 years to 3 years.
Governor avoiding visitors
Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, who is suffering from fever and infection, is taking complete rest by avoiding visitors. An expert team of doctors examined him. The Governor has also cancelled his events lasting one week in North India.
