NEW DELHI: NIA takes action against banned organization Popular Front. NIA has arrested five people, including a Malayali, for conducting hawala transactions for Popular Front. Abid KM, a native of Kasaragod, and four other natives of Karnataka were arrested. The action of NIA was regarding the black money case registered in Bihar.

The NIA found that the unaccounted money brought from abroad for Popular Front's activities was transferred through the accounts of the ones who are under custody. Meanwhile, NIA had earlier arrested three more PFI activists as part of the search conducted in Kochi on Sunday. Salahuddin, Nizamuddin, and Salim were arrested.
