THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Permission has been granted to set up state-of-the-art critical care systems in 10 hospitals and integrated public health labs in 10 district labs. An amount of Rs 253.8 crore has been sanctioned for the critical care system and Rs 12.5 crore for integrated public health labs. The project will be implemented within three years using central and state funds.
The approval is given for critical care unit at Kottayam Medical College, Kannur Medical College and Kasaragod Tata Hospital and integrated public health labs in Wayanad, Kottayam and Thrissur districts in the fiscal year 2023-24. In the year 2024-25, Critical care unit will be established at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College, Kozhikode Medical College and District Hospital in Nedumkandam and integrated public health labs will be established in Kozhikode, Idukki and Alappuzha districts.
In the year 2025-26, critical care unit will be set up in Thrissur Medical College, Alappuzha Medical College, Palakkad District Hospital, Kalpetta General Hospital and integrated public health labs in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Malappuram and Kollam districts.
