THRISSUR: Agricultural Production Commissioner Dr B Ashok, who visited the university yesterday after taking charge of the vice-chancellor, said that steps will be taken to raise the ranking of the agricultural university. He told Kerala Kaumudi that it is necessary to study in which areas the university lagged behind. Nearly 30 important files will be settled soon.

"Importance is for studies of students. Although accreditation has expired for some courses, there will be no problem for passing students. Matters related to staff, including the shortage of farm officers, will be discussed and decided in the Executive Committee etc. Haven't received proper information about the subsequent cancellation of the three-year leave granted to 18 teachers to conduct research. Will check it," Dr Ashok said.

"With government departments switching to e-filing, the same will be implemented in universities. As IT mission provides software with the government's financial assistance, e-filing can be brought soon to agricultural university as well. With that, there will be no delay in administrative matters," he added.
