CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai said that he is only interested in bringing BJP to power in the state. Annamalai's reaction comes after the leaders announced their collective resignation from BJP. Annamalai said he would be more aggressive, emulating leaders like former chief ministers Jayalalithaa and Karunanidhi.
Not worried about criticism, I am not here to make dosa or idli. I am not having a managerial role like other national parties in the state. Here an aggressive stance has to be taken to advance political action. The party will be moving in top gear. Party decisions may shock some activists. But it's okay, we have to get over it all. Until the roots of party in the state are strong, there may be defections from the party. No one has been criticized like this in the history of Tamil Nadu. No intention to change. There will be no change even if the guidelines come from Delhi, Annamalai said.
Meanwhile, 13 office bearers from Tamil Nadu BJP left the party and joined DMK. 13 people including Chennai West Division IT Wing District President Anparashan left the party. Also, many people, including Krishna who is the state secretary of the BJP intellectual wing joined Anna DMK yesterday.
