THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC working president Kodikunnil Suresh MP openly said that the list of 60 new nominees to KPCC was prepared without any consultation within the party. He also criticized the leadership saying that deserving people are being neglected.

"There are more qualified people out there than those in the KPCC list. With the Lok Sabha elections around the corner, there should be consensus in the party for a good atmosphere. Disturbing a section can affect performance. I agrees with the view against groups. But the interests of key leaders must also be protected. While preparing the reorganization list of DCC office-bearers and block presidents, Raipur AICC Plenary should ensure that the constitutional amendment is approved. The amendment is to reserve 50 percent of the party posts for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, women and those belonging to backward sections", he said.

While VT Balram and K Jayant disagreed with some of Kodikunnil's arguments, AA Shukoor and B Babu Prasad supported the view that consultation is needed. President K Sudhakaran and Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan clarified that the party will move forward only by taking everyone into confidence and ensuring consideration for all.
