CHENNAI: The Indian Union Muslim League is in the last stages of preparations for its platinum jubilee celebrations. The reports that came in said the Muslim League has hired a train to transport the workers to Chennai, the conference city. There is a special train service from Mangaluru to Chennai. Renting a train like this is a rare incident.
The train has been hired for Rs 60 lakhs. The chartered train has 17 sleeper coaches, three AC coaches and two special coaches carrying 24 workers each. The train will leave at 3 pm today. This train has stops only in Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Tirur and Palakkad and the party workers will board the train from these places. 1416 workers can travel in this train.
The train will reach Egmore in Chennai Friday morning. From there, the workers will be transported to Rajaji Hall, the conference city, in Tamil Nadu Government’s buses. 30 buses have been booked for this purpose. It was here Quaid-e-Millat formed the party 75 years ago. After the meet and other programmes, the same chartered train will return to Mangaluru with the workers on Friday at 11 pm.
