Meta’s photosharing application Instagram was down on Wednesday and Thursday morning for thousands of users globally. Downdetector.com, an outage tracking website, reports that thousands of users were unable to log into Instagram.

46,000 users reported complaints yesterday. More than 27,000 complaints were received today morning as well. Downdetector said that they are inspected what the reported issues are. 4,000 people from countries like UK, India and Australia have filed a complaint against Instagram. However, Meta has not yet responded on the issue.

At the same time, there were reports that Meta, the company that owns Instagram and Facebook, has decided to lay off employees again. Reports suggest that more than a thousand employees will be sacked this week. Earlier, Meta company had laid off 11000 employees in last November. Meta, the world's largest social networking company, said the layoffs were part of a drive to increase efficiency.
