PATHANAMTHITTA: A case has been taken against a youth for trying to abduct a minor girl whom he met via Instagram. The Aranmula police have registered a case against the youth from Malappuram for trying to abduct the 17-year-old girl.

The youth established an intimacy with the girl on social media. He later reached her house in Naranganam. As she was not willing to go with him, he tried to kidnap her. The youth fled after the locals reached hearing the commotion.

They later informed the Aranmula police. The case has been registered under the POCSO Act. Police said they will find the accused using his phone number and Instagram account.
