THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Taking into account the Chief Minister's call to start 'Tanneer Pandals' at all places in the state in view of the possibility of a heat wave and sunstroke, Cooperation Minister VN Vasavan informed that the Cooperation Department is also participating in it. The minister gave this instruction in an online meeting of state co-operative society presidents and officials today that all the societies should prepare 'Tanneer Pandals'.
All banks have been directed to start 'Tanneer Pandals' as per requirement in public areas and commercial streets in their area. The state is experiencing an unprecedented heatwave. Cooperative movements were at the forefront to help the people during the covid and floods. In the same way, this becomes a part of social responsibility. It has been suggested that the Tannir Pandals should be maintained till the end of summer.
Buttermilk, cold water, and essential ORS should be kept in Tanneer Pandals. The public should also be informed about the location of such 'Tanneer Pandals'. Public buildings and buildings provided by people can be used for these. It has been instructed in the ministerial meeting that this should be implemented within the next 15 days.
