THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPI leader and former minister Mullakara Ratnakaran called for an inquiry into the Brahmapuram fire. He raised the demand while attending the CPI state executive meeting. Mullakkara also said that Brahmapuram is the Nandigram of Kerala. When other leaders also intervened in the matter, state secretary Kanam Rajendran said that there was no need for a discussion for the time being as the assembly session was going on.
Meanwhile, the Union Health Ministry has sought a report from the state government regarding the fire. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that the Centre will provide all necessary support to ensure public health.
