Kakkukali drama should not be banned
CPM state secretary MV Govindan said that there is no need to ban the performance of Kakkukali play. Kerala is a land of freedom of expression. There is nothing wrong in criticizing someone if you feel that they are being emasculated by the play. But that does not mean that we agree with the demand to ban the play itself. The CPM is of the view that party leaders are not needed to rule the temple. The temple should be managed by the believers. But let's not forget that the Prime Minister of India is a trustee of a temple. The CPM is not ready to see anyone as a friend or foe in the dispute between the Orthodox and Jacobite churches. The government is trying to find a solution to the dispute.
