Minister Mohammad Riyas responded to opposition leader V D Satheesan's statemnt that one becoming a minister on management quota has no right to insult the opposition. Riyas said Satheesan has the ego of becoming the opposition leader through back door.

"A person who has not spent half an hour in jail does not know what political sacrifice is. The ministers are not keen in getting the good certificate of the opposition leader who says good morning and good evening. If he has such a feeling, it is better to lock them in the almirah of his office. He is constantly criticising Ministers Veena George, Sivankutty and Abdurahiman.

We became ministers after given charge by the political movement. A ministerial post is not an independent position to remain silent when criticism is raised against the CPM. We came to power after the hard work of many and involves the sacrifice of many.
