THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The members of the CPI state council have openly said that the sectarianism within the party is due to the biased approach of the leadership. Some lashed out that leaders, including state secretary Kanam Rajendran, have role in this.
Severe criticism was raised against the leadership during the discussion on the review report of the party conference.
Responding to the criticism, Kanam Rajendran recalled several incidents where the leadership neglected him at various stages. The secretary, who openly admitted that the sectarianism has manifested itself to such an extent that it cannot be said that the CPI is a different party, added that the party should end everything and move forward as a corrective force. He also said that everyone should correct their own mistakes.
The review report stated that sectarianism was strong in Ernakulam since the branch conference. It also stated that there was a wrong trend of influencing people by paying money. Leaders, including Kottayam and Wayanad district secretaries, came out with criticism against the state leadership.
