KOCHI: Vigilance court in Muvattupuzha directed to re-investigate the complaint regarding the financial dealings of Transport Commissioner ADGP S Sreejith. The court accepted the findings of Vigilance in the eight of the nine allegations against Sreejith. Thiruvananthapuram Vigilance Unit has been directed to re-investigate only the allegations related to six bank accounts.
The case is based on a complaint filed by Rameshan Nambiar in the Thrissur Vigilance Court in 2010. Later the case was transferred to Muvattupuzha Vigilance Court. The final report was submitted here. The re-investigation was ordered in the plea filed last July by Rameshan Nambiar through Adv KM Shahjahan, questioning the report. It was alleged in the complaint that Sreejith had nine benami accounts with ICICI Bank, but the vigilance probed only three accounts.
The court assessed that the investigating officer did not give a clear explanation in this regard and suggested that the bank accounts should be investigated. It has also been suggested to submit a follow-up report when the petition is considered again on June 3.
