NEW DELHI: The central government has taken further action following Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification. A notice has been issued asking him to vacate the official residence within one month as he was disqualified as Lok Sabha MP. The notice was issued by the Lok Sabha Housing Committee.

Rahul Gandhi will lose all the benefits he received as an MP as his membership was revoked following conviction in a criminal case. The Lok Sabha Secretariat issued an order disqualifying Rahul on March 23 after he was sentenced to two years imprisonment for making defamatory remarks against the name Modi.

At the same time, there was ruckus in Lok Sabha today as the opposition MPs protested against the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi. As soon as the Lok Sabha commenced today morning, the Congress MPs raised slogans. MPs Hibi Eden and TN Prathapan protested by tearing up the order disqualifying Rahul in front of the Speaker.
