BENGALURU: Madal Virupakshappa, a BJP MLA from Karnataka was arrested today in a Bribery case. The BJP MLA was arrested near the Kyathsandra toll booth near Tumakuru Road by the Lokayukta police on basis of a tip-off. Virupakshappa’s bail plea was earlier rejected by the High court which led to the arrest.

The sudden raid conducted by Lokayukta police found a whopping Rs 8 crore fromVirupaksha’s son Prasanth Madal, days back. Virupakshappa was termed the prime accused after which he went into oblivion. Prasanth was earlier caught allegedly accepting a Rs 40 lakh bribe, allegedly on his father's behalf, last month.

The bribe was to meant to secure a tender to supply raw materials to Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Ltd, said the Lokayukta police, which was investigating the case.
