KUMARAKAM: G-20 Sherpa meeting decided to stick with the interests of G-7 countries including Canada. In the wake of the Ukraine war, the meeting was dominated by the need to avoid decisions that would lead the G-7 countries to further internal conflicts. If the policy decisions taken by the G-20 are not cautious, then the G-7 countries will become more defensive. The decision to not to clash with the interests of the G-7 countries was taken on this situation. It is indicated that some countries have raised objections.

The Ukraine war was also discussed, but there was no detailed discussion since the interests of the opposition groups would come up. It was agreed to enhance the cooperation among the member countries in disaster prevention and to exchange technologies to reduce the impact of disasters. Climate change, global cooperation in the field of science and technology, and the need to cooperate with each other in the field of health were also discussed.

Sherpas dressed in Kerala traditionals

Sherpas ( one who leads a group as a representative of the Head of State) who came for the plenary session were welcomed in Kerala style to the conference venue Kumarakam KTDC Waterscapes. Union Minister V Muraleedharan also attended the opening ceremony. An exhibition was also prepared to introduce the unique products of Kerala and the country. In the evening, the delegates came dressed in mundu for the evening art programs and houseboat ride.
