THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress MP Sashi Tharoor came up in support of K Muraleedharan who was sidelined in the Vaikom Sathyagraha event by his party. Tharoor backed Muraleedharan and admitted to his party going wrong and said at least the leader could have been spared a few minutes for speech.
“The time management could have done better. He is a former KPCC president. The party should have given him the deserved consideration. I expect more opportunities in the coming days to rectify such mistakes. I have no regret not getting any time for a speech during the event” Tharoor commented.
Former KPCC presidents Ramesh Chennitala and M M Hassan made speeches at the Vaikom event but not Muraleedharan. This irked the leader as he approached the AICC general secretary K C Venugopal with disappointment. He asked the leadership to open up about whether the party needed him or not. K Muraleedahran has always teetered on the edge with claims about leaving the party. This issue is the latest to add up to the long list of neglect experienced by the son of veteran K Karunakaran.
