Top 1000 enterprises will be converted into 100 crore turnover companies: Minister P Rajeev

KOCHI: Minister P Rajeev said that the government's aim is to transform top 1000 MSME enterprises into 100 crore turnover companies through the Mission 1000 scheme. The Minister was speaking after inaugurating the MSME Summit organized by the Industries department in association with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

In the last financial year, 1,39,815 enterprises were started in Kerala. Through this, an investment of 8,417 crores has been ensured and employment has been ensured for 2,99,943 people. 35 percent of the newcomers are women entrepreneurs. Through the government's new industrial policy, women could be brought into the field of entrepreneurship. Steps have been taken to speed up things like start-up capital and license. For this purpose, 1,153 interns have been appointed in various panchayats and municipalities of the state, the minister said.

The industries department and ICAI exchanged MoU at the function to extend MSME services. At the event, Directorate of Industries and Commerce Joint Director G Rajeev, Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation MD S Harikishore, State Level Bankers Committee Convenor and Canara Bank Kerala Head S Prem Kumar, chartered accountants PM Veeramani and Deepak Gupta conducted classes on various topics. Suman Billa, Principal Secretary, Industries and NORCA Government of Kerala, and Muhammad Hanish, Principal Secretary, Industries and General Education, spoke at the event organized at Kaloor Gokulam Convention Centre.
