THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police' 'Raksha Fuels' pump at SAP camp was closed due to mounting dues of more than Rs 1.5 crore. Indian Oil Corporation stopped supplying fuel after non-payment of dues on Friday, the end of the financial year. As the vehicles, including those of the police headquarters, were running out of fuel since yesterday morning, the police chief gave permission to fill fuel from private pumps in case of emergency.
DGP's circular is to fill fuel from private pumps to overcome the crisis. The circular directs to find alternative ways so that the vehicles which filled fuel from the SAP camp are not disrupted in their official duties. The vehicles of police headquarters, special units, city and Thiruvananthapuram rural police stations filled fuel Raksha Fuels. The request for allotment of amount for fuel is under consideration of the government. A decision may be taken on Monday.
