The accused fled from the train after setting the train on fire. Meanwhile, reports are claiming that the accused sought treatment at the Kannur District Hospital after getting off the train. The police had earlier released the sketch of the accused. Following this, they received information that a person looking similar to the person in the sketch had sought treatment at the Kannur District Hospital. This person reached the hospital seeking treatment for burns on his leg. Upon receiving this information, the police team reached the hospital and collected details.
DGP Anil Kant said that a special team has been formed for the investigation and that the police have received crucial information. ADGP MR Ajith Kumar will lead the investigation team.
The phone obtained from the bag believed to be abandoned by the accused will be crucial in the case. The phone was last used on March 30. Police said that they will collect information from the phone. The bag contained a phone and a notebook. The English letter 's' was written in different shapes in the notebook. It also contained the names of some individuals. This raises the suspicion that the accused may have received help from many others.
