KOZHIKODE: A clash between migrant workers led to the death of one person in Vadakara. Sikander Kumar, a native of Bihar, is the one who died. The incident happened this afternoon. After an argument, two workers fell from the two-storied building of their residence on JT Road, Vadakara.
The injured were rushed to the hospital by the local residents, but Sikander's life could not be saved. The second person, who was seriously injured, is currently undergoing treatment. It is reported that two people who were with them ran away. The Vadakara police has started an investigation into the incident.
In a similar incident that took place last March, a five-year-old boy was killed when he was slashed during a conflict between migrant workers at Mupliyam. Najirul Islam, son of Badur Islam and Najma, who are natives of Assam, died in the incident. Najma and another worker, Siraj Islam, were hacked. The conflict happened when a verbal argument broke out while eating the jackfruit given by the company owner. The boy who was taken to the Pudukad Taluk Hospital after he was cut on his neck, could not be saved. Najima and Siraj Islam were hacked when they tried to stop Jamal from hurting the child.
