KOZHIKODE: The bodies of Rahmath and Noufeek killed in the train accident at Elathur in Kozhikode, were laid to rest. The body of Rahmath was buried at the graveyard of Palot Mosque and that of Noufeek at Edayannur Juma Masjid.

Many paid homages to Noufeek when the body was kept at an old-age rest house. The body was later brought to his house in Kodolipuram. He is survived by his wife Bushra and three children.

Rahmat returned to Kannur by train after the Iftar at her sister Jaseela's house in Chaliyath, Kozhikode. She returned to Mattannur with Jaseela’s two-year-old daughter Sahla on Alappuzha Kannur Executive Train. Naufeek met with the accident when he was returning from Malappuram after Iftar.

The incident that shocked the country happened on the Alappuzha-Kannur Executive Express at Elathur in Kozhikode around 9:30 pm on Sunday. The accused disappeared after pouring petrol on the passengers in the running train and setting them on fire.
