BENGALURU: Ahead of the assembly elections in Karnataka, the BJP is all set to induct two popular Kannada actors as party members. Actors Kiccha Sudeep and Darshan Tugudeepa are the two joining the BJP. The two are likely to join the party at around 1:30 pm today in the presence of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai at a private hotel in Bengaluru.

With this, the two will be BJP's star campaigners in the elections. It is heard that the BJP is also in talks with other actors of the Kannada film industry. Although Kiccha Sudheep will be attending events across Karnataka for the campaign, his focus will be on the Kalyana Karnataka region. BJP's move is aimed at influencing Kiccha’s huge fan base for election victory.

Karnataka Congress chief D K Sivakumar visiting Kiccha Sudheep in February was in news. However, sources close to the two said the visit was a cordial one. Karnataka will go to the polls on May 10 and counting of votes will be on May 13. The congress and the JDS have already released the first list of candidates. Chief Minister Bommai had said the candidates list of the BJP will be released on April 8.
