THRIKKAKARA: Odisha native girl was found hanging inside her home in Kakkanad, Kochi. Dipa Mlaik was found dead inside her bedroom in the rented space she was staying with her husband. Police have registered a case and arrested her husband Chakradhar Malik. However, the officers dismissed any crime angle but arrested her husband for one reason alone— Dipa is just 15 years old.

Chakradar works in a private business firm and returned back later at night to their home to see Dipa hanging. He immediately alarmed the house owner after which the room was sealed. The police while searching the ID details took aback seeing the age of Dipa. Chakradhar says they were married for nine months. Police meanwhile registered a case against him under POCSO.

Inquest procedures will continue under the supervision of RDO.
