‘Minnal Murali’ directed by Basil Joseph starring Tovino Thomas, was the first Malayalam superhero film. It was released on OTT platform Netflix and had gained worldwide attention. There have been rumours about the movie’s sequel and now Basil Joseph has opened up about this.

Basil clarified that Minnal Murali 2 will be made on a big budget. “The sequel will be bigger than ‘Minnal Murali’ in terms of scale base or budget. Therefore, the film will be 100 percent bigger than the prequel. Can’t say about Netflix’s collaboration in the second part.”, said the director.

Basil also responded to questions about the villain in the second part. “The villain will be clear only while scriptwriting. Anyway, it will take time and audience have high expectations for the second part. That is my fear. I want to write a good scipt“, said Basil. He stated these during promotion of his film ‘Pookalam’.
