THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Rahim, who is differently abled and a resident of Anchuthengu Kochuthekkazhikam, was in a wheelchair when he came to meet the Chief Minister in February. On that day, he submitted a plea to the Chief Minister requesting a three-wheeled scooter for himself as a lottery vendor. Chief Minister met Rahim, who was in a wheelchair, in the corridor of his office. He also instructed the officials to take necessary measures on his application.

After two months, the Chief Minister has kept his promise. Yesterday, Chief Minister handed over a tri-scooter to Rahim at North Block, where his office is located. Binu Girija, a Malayali entrepreneur in America who came to know about Rahim's condition through the media, got him a three-wheeled scooter by including it as a part of the social responsibility activities of his company Way.com. Binu said that the scooter is given as part of supporting small entrepreneurs who are disabled and needy. Chief Minister's Private Secretary KK Ragesh, Political Secretary P Sasi, Way.com India Country Head Balagopal KS, and others participated in the function.

The Chief Minister said on Facebook that the government is taking necessary steps to ensure that all differently-abled people in Kerala live happily and cheerfully. He also noted that we should work together to transform Kerala into a creative disability-friendly state.
