THRIKKAKKARA: A 15-year-old married girl from Odisha was found hanging at a rented house in Kakkanad. Dipa Malik (15), a native of Odisha, was found hanging in the bedroom of the house. The incident came to light on Wednesday evening. The police have taken Dipa's husband Chakradhar Malik (40) into custody.

Chakradhar Malik is an employee at a private company in Kakkanad industrial region. Dipa was found hanging when Chakradhar returned home after work. Following this, he informed the house owner. The Thrikkakkara police soon reached the spot and sealed the room.

Upon checking the IDs of the couple, the police found that the girl was a minor. Following this, they took Chakradhar into custody. Police said that there is no mystery surrounding the death of the girl. The police will book the man under POCSO Act. Chakradhar told the police that he got married to Dipa 9 months ago. The couple had been living on the first floor of a private building on Masjid Road near Kakkanad TV Centre for the last three months.
