KOZHIKODE: The police brought Shahrukh Saifi, the accused in the Elathur train attack case, for medical examination through a dramatic move. Shahrukh was not present in the van that started from the Maloorkkunnu police camp and reached the Kozhikode Medical College. The van went out of the Medical College after travelling some distance.
In the meantime, Shahrukh was brought to the Kozhikode Medical College in another police vehicle. He was then taken to the office of the police surgeon located near the mortuary. Arrangements were made there for the medical examination. The police also made a move to bring the accused to Kozhikode Beach Hospital for medical examination. Several policemen had reached the Beach Hospital in the morning.
Meanwhile, it is reported that X-Ray and CT scan tests showed that Sharukh does not suffer from any health issues. Other tests are continuing. The team of doctors examined his injuries and burns.
Shahrukh, who told the police that it was his own decision to carry out the attack, added that he singlehandedly carried out the attack. He also said that he had never been to Kerala before. However, the police think that most of the statements of the accused are lies. Shahrukh has not given a proper answer when quizzed about the motive behind the attack.
