THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Four apartments completed by the LIFE mission will be handed over to beneficiaries today. 174 families will get shelter and safety with the government move. The key will be handed over to the families by chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan at morning 10:30 am in Kadambur, Kannur. At Kollam, Minister K N Balagopal will hand over the key while in Kottayam and Idukki, it will be done by Minister V N Vasavan and Roshy Augustine respectively.

The day of the inauguration will coincide with the 100th-day celebration of the second Pinarayi Vijayan-led government. In a targeted 1,06,000 houses, 54430 were completed in the last financial year alone.60,160 houses and 25 apartments are currently in construction. In Thiruvananthapuram, Poovachal is the selected location for raising apartments under the life mission scheme.

The Kadambur apartments were built by Pennar Industries from Hyderabad, while the other three were completed by Mitsumi housing private from Ahmedabad. The flats to be inaugurated will have a common hall, two bedrooms, a toilet, and a balcony.
