KOZHIKODE: A man has been arrested in Kozhikode for selling brown sugar at his rented house on the pretext of selling fish. The arrested person is Pantheeramkavu native Pradeepan (38). Pradeepan was arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force led by Narcotics Cell Assistant Commissioner Prakashan Padannayil and Pantheeramkavu police. They also found 8.76 grams of brown sugar in his house.
According to the police, Pradeepan is an accused in around 30 assault and robbery cases registered at various police stations in Kozhikode, Malappuram, Thrissur and Ernakulam. They also said that he is a drug addict who regularly uses brown sugar.
The DANSAF squad had been monitoring Pradeepan's home after noticing that he had been selling drugs. The drugs seized from his house are worth around Rs 2 and a half lakhs in the retail market. Pradeepan's neighbours did not have any suspicions as he mainly focused on selling drugs in Malappuram. He rented the house saying that he had a boat and that he used to sell fish.
