NEW DELHI: A group of Congress MPs from Kerala has filed a complaint with the party's national leadership against the reorganization of the state Mahila Congress. In a letter sent to Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge, nine Congress MPs alleged that Mahila Congress president Jebi Mather appointed the new office-bearers of the Mahila Congress without consulting the KPCC leadership.
The list of new office-bearers of the Mahila Congress came out on Thursday. The list includes 4 vice presidents and 18 general secretaries. There is also a 28-member advisory committee. The MPs are alleging that Jebi Mather did not consult the state leaders, including KPCC president K Sudhakaran, before appointing the new office bearers. They have also questioned the decision to introduce the 50-year age limit and the formation of the advisory committee.
Meanwhile, Jebi Mather has denied the allegations. She said that the decision was made after consulting the leadership.
