NEW DELHI: BJP national secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya has made a controversial statement that girls wearing vulgar clothes look like ‘Shurpanakha’ - a demon from the Hindu epic Ramayana.
“On my way home at night, I see well-educated young men and women lying on the road under the influence of drugs. I feel like getting down from my car and slapping them to sober them up. We see goddess in women. But they look like ‘Shurpanaka’ by wearing vulgar clothes. God has given you beautiful bodies, so dress well”, he said while speaking at an event organized on the occasion of Hanuman and Mahavir Jayanthi.
